Privacy Policy
Last updated October 20, 2026.
The Association of Global Educators, LLC ("AGE", "we", "us") runs this website, its free membership, and its volunteer program. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal data.
What we collect
- Account details. Name, title, email address, university or organization, country, rank, field, and a password. We store your password only in scrambled (hashed) form.
- Profile details you choose to add. A photo, a short bio, and links to your LinkedIn, Facebook, or website.
- Your choices. Whether you are listed in the member directory, whether your links and email show on your card, and whether you want the Deadline Digest.
- Volunteer offers. The roles you choose and any note you write.
- Forms. What you send through the contact form or the Deadline Digest sign-up.
- Technical data. Your IP address and basic request data in server logs, and counters we use to limit repeated sign-in attempts.
How we use it
- To create and run your membership, and to log you in.
- To show your profile to other members, only as you choose.
- To send account emails such as email confirmation and password reset.
- To send the Deadline Digest and AGE news if you opted in. Every message tells you how to stop.
- To organize volunteers and contact you about roles you chose.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
Who can see your information
You are not listed in the member directory until you turn that on in My account. When you are listed, only logged-in AGE members can see the card, and it shows your name, rank, university, country, and field. Your LinkedIn, Facebook, website, and email appear only if you choose to show them. AGE administrators can see member records to run the program. We do not sell or rent your data and we do not share it with advertisers.
Service providers
We use hosting and email providers to run the site. They process data for us under their own terms. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google when a page loads.
Cookies
We use one essential session cookie to keep you logged in and protect forms. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on the membership pages.
Keeping your data
We keep your account for as long as you are a member. You can edit your profile at any time, remove your photo, or delete your account from My account. Deleting your account removes your profile, photo, and volunteer offers. Backups and server logs may keep copies for a short period afterward.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict some uses. Most of this you can do yourself in My account. For anything else, use the contact form and we will respond.
International use
AGE serves members worldwide. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States.
Security
We use hashed passwords, protected forms, and limits on repeated sign-in attempts. No system is perfectly secure, so please choose a strong password and do not reuse it.
Children
AGE membership is for educators, researchers, and students who are adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Other AGE systems
The AGE Conference Manager (submit.globaleducators.net) has its own accounts and terms. Your membership account here is separate for now.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do. Questions? Use the contact form.
